Meet 7I7
more than just a name
717 Church is a new church plant located in Lititz, PA, serving the 717-area code of south central Pennsylvania. The church officially launched in January of 2023. Why 717? 717 is home! It is the basic reminder that our area code tells us that where we live, work, and eat, we are called to live like Jesus with our entire lives. You are welcome here! We want to be a place that represents the Truth of the gospel that all of us need Jesus, and where everyone is welcome in community.
We meet at Lititz Mennonite Church (165 Front St. Lititz) and are thankful to be sharing facilities for Kingdom connection with the body of LMC! We're so thankful for their hospitality and God's goodness - it's an awesome story - ask us about it sometime!

Leadership
717 Church is led by our pastor, alongside a team of Elders who meet the qualifications as described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, whose role is to authoritatively shepherd God’s people and provide accountability to the pastor. (If you’re looking for someone to blame, you’ve found the right spot.)

Our Beliefs
“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there be no divisions among you, and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
As a part of the body of Christ, we hold to unity in central Christian beliefs that find their source in the Bible (God’s Word). In that, we have liberty in non-essential beliefs and trust that the Holy Spirit guides those who claim Jesus as King to live in obedience to His Word. God transforms people and uses us to aid in that process as we learn to show His grace and truth through love.
01
God is Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is infinite, eternal, and perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.
02
Jesus is God incarnate, fully God and fully human, one person in two natures. He was born to a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for the salvation of the world, resurrected in body, ascended to heaven, and will return to earth.
03
The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, to sanctify believers, provide comfort and encouragement, and empower for ministry. He indwells believers and provides gifts and fruits for the purpose of edifying the church and evangelizing the world.
04
The Bible is God’s Word to us written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is inspired by God and provides the believer with all that is necessary for Christian beliefs and godly living.
05
Man and woman were created in the image of God, but because of rebellion, sinned against God. Everyone is tainted by that sin and in need of the salvation of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ provides that salvation by His death on a cross. His death provided us with a substitution for our sin, paid the price for our transgressions, and defeated the enemy. To be forgiven of our sin we must accept by faith and repentance this gift of salvation and eternal, abundant life.
06
The church is the God established gathering of those who have made Jesus Lord of their lives. The church is called to worship God, build up its members, and proclaim the good news of Jesus to the world. The church witness should consist of love for everyone, deeds of compassion and justice, and proclamation of the truth.
07
Jesus Christ ordained two practices for believers. One is water baptism, best demonstrated by immersion, which signifies redemption through the work of Jesus Christ. Baptism also demonstrates the believer’s death to sin and the resurrection to newness of life. The second ordinance is the Lord’s Supper also called Communion. This is a commemoration of the Lord’s death, which is represented by the taking of bread and wine.
08
Jesus came to earth proclaiming the Kingdom of God and its impact on all people and creation. The Kingdom of God is the rule and reign of God over all creation, authority, and people. The Kingdom of God is realized both now and in the future.
09
Jesus Christ will gloriously return to earth in bodily form. This time is only known to the Father but gives great comfort and motivation to the believer. When Christ returns, he will judge all people, those who have trusted in his work of salvation, will receive eternal life in a new earth and a new heaven in the presence of God. Those who have rejected His call, will receive eternal judgment and separation from God.
We hope that you find 717 Church to be a welcoming, authentic place where you can worship in community with others. If you have any questions, a need we can help with, or want to connect with someone, please let us know. We would love to get to know you!
